Firefighter Wins Corvette in LAF Raffle

Ernie Robles, Operations Chief, Picture Rocks Fire Department, had an unexpected Christmas gift this year – a brand new 2008 Corvette! In a spur-of-the-moment decision, Ernie purchased the winning ticket while visiting United Fire Equipment Co. in Tucson. Daniel Matlick, President of United Fire, is also the Development Director for the Last Alarm Foundation (www.lastalarmfoundation.com), sponsor of the raffle. The Foundation is restoring a vintage fire truck to serve as a fire truck/hearse for our fallen firefighter heroes, active and retired, so they will have the traditional time-honored funeral procession they desire and deserve. Matlick commented: “I’m really happy that one of our own public safety heroes won the car. They put their lives on the line for us every day. Congratulations to Ernie and a heart felt ‘thank you’ to all of our public safety personnel who serve and protect us, our families, and our property.”
